RIVER HOSPITAL TO THANK COMMUNITY WITH ART SHOW AND OPEN HOUSE

To thank the community members who rallied in support of Soldiers suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), River Hospital will host an art show and open house on July 3rd.

The event will feature artwork created by Soldiers and tours of the PTS program facility.

“River Hospital is humbled by the support the Soldiers and our program have been shown and we want to demonstrate our appreciation,” said River Hospital CEO Ben Moore. “This is our way of thanking a caring community that came through when we needed their help.”

Launched in February of 2013, the River Hospital PTS program has been a unique and unprecedented success. Soldiers receive access to art therapy, in vivo therapy, marriage and family therapy and piscatorial therapy in an off-base setting. When the Army announced plans to stop referring Soldiers to the program, the community, Congresswoman Stefanik, Senator Schumer, Senator Gillibrand, Congressman Gibson, Senator Richie and Assemblywoman Russell stepped forward to save the program.
