River Hospital Welcomes New Pulmonology Specialist

River Hospital is proud to announce that Frederic Seifer, MD, board-certified internist and pulmonology specialist is joining their medical staff to provide outpatient pulmonary care to residents of the North Country.

Dr. Seifer has extensive knowledge and unrivaled expertise in pulmonary care and internal medicine. With over 40 years of experience in the medical management of chronic diseases, he diagnoses and treats conditions of the chest, such as bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, COPD, emphysema, bronchiectasis, and other complicated infections or tumors of the chest. Dr. Seifer also offers expertise in smoking cessation.

Dr. Seifer received his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill., and then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He completed his pulmonary fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.

“Residents of the North Country deserve access to this essential care, close to home”, said Kelley Tiernan, Chief Executive Officer and President of River Hospital. “With respiratory and pulmonary diseases such as asthma and COPD on the rise, we knew that we had to provide access to specialty pulmonology care in order to meet the health needs of the communities we serve.”
