River Hospital plans to recognize National Breast Cancer Awareness Month from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday October 29th, 2014 with an informal, informational and interactive lecture titled "A Conversation with River Hospital: The Importance of Breast Health and Mammograms". Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women in the United States, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. It is also one of the leading causes of cancer death, but early detection is the best way to increase a woman’s chance of survival.
The event begins at 6:00pm with dinner and the opportunity to network with River Hospital staff and community members. The event hopes to build rapport with existing and prospective patients as well as help get patients more engaged in the care process. Attendees will hear from four medical experts:
Dr. Kiri Brandy, General Surgeon
Dr. Ali Gharagazloo, Radiologist
Dr. Andrew Ogden, Gynecologist
Dr. Lauren Roman, Primary Care
The physician experts will participate in a question and answer panel discussion following the presentation; audience participation is encouraged. You will also hear one woman’s powerful story of breast cancer survival.
The event will be held at Bonnie Castle Resort and Marina, 31 Holland Street, Alexandria Bay, NY 13607. There is no charge for the event but seating is limited and a reservation is required. Call River Hospital Marketing and Community Relations office at 315.482.1270 to RSVP or for more information.
