River Hospital Aims to bridge the mind-body divide in healthcare with addition of new Integrated Medical Director

 

It is with great pleasure that River Hospital announces the appointment of Dr. Mohammad Basil Amin, MD as the new Integrated Medical Director of Primary Care and Behavioral Health.

In this new role, Dr. Amin will be responsible for the oversight of the primary care and behavioral health integration effort. In his position he will be responsible for clinical supervision and mentorship of Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers and other health care personnel within the River Hospital Family Health Center and The River Hospital Community Wellness Program.

Dr. Amin was born and raised in Pakistan and graduated from the Nistar Medical College of Pakistan. He went on to complete his medical and surgical residency in Pakistan before attending Seton Hall University where he completed his internal medicine residency. After several years as serving as both an emergency room physician and staff physician, Dr. Amin went on to obtain a fellowship in addiction medicine from Boston University Medical Center.

Dr. Amin brings years of experience as a physician working closely with an integrated care model. As a primary care provider, he specializes in both internal medicine and addiction services. In this capacity, he can oversee the partnership of River Hospital’s medical and mental health resources to provide integrated care that focuses on achieving the best patient-centered outcomes.

Through the addition of this position, River Hospital demonstrates a commitment to the implementation of integrated care models and creative solutions to continuously meet the needs of our patients.
